Blackened Maple TV Stand
This stand was made for a friend and his wife who wanted something made out of black wood. Since actual black woods like wenge or ebony is astronomically expensive, I decided to use maple and dye it black or "ebonize" it. The top, shelf and aprons are curly maple while the legs are plain maple.
The dying process really accentuates the depth of the curl and although I prefer not to stain or dye my pieces, I think this one turned out really well.
